Last night I screened November, an Estonian horror/fantasy movie. Amazing film! The B&W cinematography is breathtaking. Every shot is gorgeous. The film itself is based on Estonian myths and fairy tales. It's completely puzzling, but it has its own interior logic. It features witches, ghosts, the devil and unholy beasts made out of farm tools. If I had to compare it to anything, it would be The VVitch, Eraserhead and Tale of Tales. Like a lot of the best horror films, it sprinkles humor in throughout to keep everything fun. The only actor i recognized was the scientist from the first Human Centipede movie. He doesn't have as much to do in this film, but he is still great. This film is the best I've seen in quite a while. Check it out if you get a chance.
