HTF seems to be changing layout somewhat on the fly. Never know how things will look from hour to hour.

I always like it when a forum I visit often changes for some reason. Very rare that I don't like the new layouts. Forum Feedback section might have more goings on about this.

I love the new clean sharp edge look of the HTF, hopefully it will trickle down into the rest of the site, like The blue bars and stuff.

I'm also digging the changes, although apparently they allow some people to post...from the future!!!!!!
Thanks for all the tweaks, PC!

I suspect it's something to do with Dayling Savings Time, e.g. my posts now get time-stamped an hour ahead, e.g. it's 3.40pm (in Singapore) right now as I type, but I expect to see it time-stamped as about 4.40pm once I post. probably because bringing the clocks forward isn't reflected on the computers' clocks, or on computers where there's no daylight savings time (e.g. here).

Parker had vowed from day one that the look
of this forum would always remain fresh.

You are correct that you never know what
changes are going to be made here from hour
to hour.

This software end is Parker's ballgame. I don't
generally even suggest ideas to him because I have
the complete faith that he'll come up with something
even better.

Personally, I am very proud of what he has
done here.

The time code for the script is based off GMT. So you have to set your time from the timezone selection to your present time. This always happens when different parts of the world go on daylight sayings and the other half has sprung forward.
You can edit your local timezone by going to the User Control Panel > Edit Profile and select it from there.
Thanks for all the kudos. I hate stagnation and the same ol' same ol'. At least this gives you a little different look to come to every once in awhile. :)

sheesh Parker, what time do you get up? :D
but seriously, the time was and is correctly set at GMT +8 (BTW it's at Edit Options, rather than Edit Profile), but it still shows time an hour ahead. my guess would be that the "GMT" reference clock got pushed an hour ahead once daylight savings kicked in in UK?

Sorry. I meant Edit Options. Yeah I guess you have to set your local time to +7 instead to get it right.

Thank God! I thought I was just going nuts! I don't stay at the front page very long, so I was like "isn't this different?" and the I'd log on at a different time and the changes would either have reverted or slightly changed again.
What I'm seeing as of right now looks great! :emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup:

I personally hate all the stuff I have to scroll through to get to the forums. Not interested in all the ads and stuff. Just give me the forums. That is why I am here. I understand the need for the ads to support the forum, it is needed I guess. Other than that, colors are nice and easy on eyes.

Okay, I'll be the fly in the ointment! :D
Before I do that: [rant]Nice job, Packy![/rant] :emoji_thumbsup:
Okay, about one tiny color-scheme related thing. The red-on-blue format at the bottom for "Click here for your local weather." is driving me nuts.
How about yellow-on-blue? It stands out MUCH better and those colors go together...just ask the Cub Scouts. :)

Jeff:

The Ronny Montrose in me thanks you!

David:

I know. But this would change all the links to yellow on the page and yellow looks like shit on a white background. I am still working on it.

I see you rolled back for now. Thanks for listening to my input. I'm certain you'll come up with a combination or technique that works out! :emoji_thumbsup:
