This might sound dumb, but is there any way to not display your age on MySpace or Friendster?

another option is to just put a really absurd age, like 0 or 199

I suppose asking MySpace and Friendster is out of the question for some reason? [IMG]

Okay, just for fun, what the hell is MySpace & Friendster? Sure I could look them up but why should I? And why don't you want to divulge you age to them?

Friendster is pretty cool and a neat idea, myspace seems a little kiddy to me.

I put my profile on Friendster after a college friend asked me to and a got 2 messages from people commenting me on my looks. 1 from a girl and 1 from a guy. [IMG] :p)

I got a few on MySpace, mostly from women from Malaysia but also a domestic. I didn't have to do anything so I guess my profile showed up under a "just joined" section (plus there haven't been any other emails).

I think that still works if you're in the same town, but those sites connect you with new people and existing friends all over the world (e.g. Malaysia). Apparently these kinds of sites have also been helpful in the business community.

I don't see any straightforward way on Friendster or MySpace to not display the age since filling in your date of birth is part of your profile and there's no option to not display. However, tribe.net, gives you the option. I haven't hung out on Friendster or MySpace for awhile, but at the time I was trying them out Tribe was the most interesting for giving users a way to create their own message boards around any topic of their choosing. Friendster and MySpace may have this feature now...
