This weekend the First Annual Lebowski Fest West (details HERE) is being held in Las Vegas. These guys also have an annual event in Louisville, KY. It's a fan celebration of everything Lebowski, as in the Cohen Brothers' film The Big Lebowski. They have bowling, white russians, oat sodas and sasparillas, a screening of the film, costume contests, a "ringer toss" contest, and celebrity appearances. This year in Vegas it's Jeff "the Dude" Dowd, whom Jeff Bridges' character in the film was based on and James Hoosier, who played The Jesus' bowling partner Liam. You can imagine where it goes from here. These are just a bunch of fans who get together every year to celebrate the film and have some fun. It sounds like a blast. I've never been but plan on possibly attending the Louisville thing this year and definitely the Vegas Fest next February. Anyway, I'm posting this info just in case any Big Lebowski fans at HTF are unaware of the festivities and want to, in the spirit of comaraderie, watch the film today themsleves. I know what I'm gonna do. "What I'm blathering about - new shit has come to light, man! She owes money all over town, including to known pornographers, and that's cool... that's cool, and of course they're going to say that they didn't get the money, because... she wants more, man! She's got to feed the monkey... "
