I had a Kenwood VR 6070 connected via optical cable. JBL ES80s front, ES25C center and HSU Research STF-2 sub. The kick on the sub was tremendous. I had it with the crossover on and the level less than half and it kicked. I decided to upgrade the receiver so I got the Yamaha RX-577 to connect via HDMI, but now there's not enough kick from the sub. I have the crossover off and the level to max and I don't feel the same kick as the they I used to hear it. Most of the bass is now coming from the fronts. I already tried to mess around with the settings but no success. Little help please.

Have you tried re-running the YPAO setup to see if that helps the situation?

Have you tried adjusting the sub level in the receiver?

Do you have your front size set to small or large? If large the mains are going to produce bass vs the sub.

Do you have the lack of sub on all your soundfields or just a DD/DPL?

What is the sub xover level set at on the AVR? Maybe you have it see to low?
