Well, I've decided to get a pair (perhaps a set) or nOrh 4.0s for my home theater. I just can't decide between wood or ceramic. Does anyone know the tonal differences of these two materials? FYI, they will be mated to a Kenwood VR-407 receiver and used with a Klipsch KSW-200 subwoofer.

The ceramics are more detailed & clearer sounding, but are also less forgiving of average electronics. The wood 4.0's are more laid back & warm sounding. For an inexpensive 2 channel setup, I would take the wood 4.0's. For an inexpensive 5.1 HT setup, I think the ceramic 4.0 is almost impossible to beat.

And if you read through the current news on the norh website, you'll find that the wood 4.0s are on sale for $300/pair.
