Since DVD came out in 1997 I've been awaiting one of my favourite flicks - a not-so-well-known French film entitled Queen Margot. It just came out from Miramax; having not read any announcement to this effect I was overjoyed when I found about out it and bought it.

Then I discovered it was little more than a laserdisc rehash. Non-anamorphic, no 5.1 remix, no supplements. The video is tinted red...

Sigh. The least they could have done is made it anamorphic. It's 2003 for crumb's sake!!!!

You should know better than to expect Miramax to be forced at anything less than gunpoint to treat foreign film properly

    Miramax (under Disney) DVD sucks!

My "The Horseman on the Roof" also letterbox only.

Though the transfer is not bad.
