Noise from cable connection affecting reciever? (1 Viewer)

I have a TV, computer, reciever, and a TiVo hooked up.

Whenever I hook up just the regular cable connection to the tv, I will get thick white lines scroll up the screen when the video is set to the svideo computer input. Also, if I have my tivo hooked up to my reciever, I get a low hum from my subwoofer constantly. This goes away if I disconnect the tivo from everything.

Does anyone know what would cause this or how to fix it?

It drives me CRAZY.

Thanks

Mike

Grounding / interference.....

You will need a couple of days of serious experiementation, to start to get a grip on it.

There are some isolators and such. But usually you can get rid of it other ways.

So without the TIVO all is well? Check grounding on the Cable TV comming into your house.

Switch outlets, get some cheater plugs/adapters ect..ect..

These types of problems can drive you batty, so be patient.
