I find it funny that there's been nothing here about the series finale. I didn't watch it. Did anyone? [IMG]

I have never watched an entire episode of this show, and it's been on for a long time.

    As Ray said on Letterman...

Seinfeld Finale - Friends Finale = Raymond Finale

    About 30M viewers... Not bad.

I set my Replay to record the Hercules movie, out of curiosity, but that bumped Raymond. I watched like five minutes of Hercules and was so disgusted I erased it immediately. My main interest was seeing Leelee Sobieski as a nymph, but I couldn't sit through what looked pretty crappy. I don't know why they have to pick these pretty boy, vacuous types to play strong men.

I'll be hunting for Ray online.

My sister & I have our own way of referring to this show...

    "Everybody tolerates Raymond."

I've only watched a couple of episodes, and would categorize it as "rainy sunday afternoon viewing"... i.e. something I would watch to break up the monotony, not because it's something I'm interested in watching, but because I'm so bored my head hurts.

With that said, I'm sure the show has it's devoted fans, and that it's got some appeal that escapes me. I just don't find it at all interesting.

    Moe.

this show is FUNNY. but that's just my opinion. i like Arrested Development, i like King of Queens, and i like Everbody Loves Raymond. i was surprised nobody mentioned this finale also. while i got into the show through syndication, and never watched it on prime time, i caught last night's finale, and it was a good, solid, perfect-way-to-end-the-series show.

You, your sister, and a Weird Al Yankovic song...

As for me I like the show, I preferred Friends though and was more interested in that series finale but I did watch the Raymond one and thought it was a good way to end the show.

I'm a longtime fan of the show, but haven't seen it since 24 started up. I DVR'd the last few episodes and will watch them with the wife when we get around to it!

BTW, after the first season (Which I hadn't seen) we got free tickets for his stand-up act and got to meet him after the show. The only thing I could thing to say to him besides "Great show!" was... "Loved your work on Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist" After that, I started watching ELR and was a big fan.

I got to the end where everyone was sitting down at the dinner table, but then TiVo cut off short. Could you fill me in on the last couple of minutes I missed?

It's one of those shows that those with family can kind of relate to in some of their own for certain characters. I liked it, but not as much as Frasier, Seinfield or Friends. But it was better than a lot of junk out there now.

You didn't miss anything. Once they all gathered around the table, it was just everyone talking at the same time and over each other until the fadeout.

The assassins from Season One finally caught up with Raymond and mowed down the whole family except for the gay twin. They will probably manage to resuscitate Robert for the spin-off.

Really enjoyed the finale. Nice way to go out, releasing some of the tension of the Ray/Debra dynamic, injecting an ounce of humanity into Frank. Otherwise a fairly low-key way to go out, which was nice. The only think that set it apart as a season finale was the last fade out shot of them all gathered around the dinner table. Probably my favorite one since "Frasier" last year[IMG]

Only saw the last five minutes of it (during commercial breaks on 24), but it seemed like an appropriate ending to the show. An unhip, untrendy, and often brilliantly funny series. I may not love Raymond, but I love his show.

i never understood what was funny about this show.
everytime i watched the only thing i saw was
family members insulting each other and trying to cause each other some type of emotional pain.
