No sound with xbox (1 Viewer)

Hello All,

I connected my xbox to my denon 3801 optical 1 input (i have the hd pack). I have my dvd connected with coaxial. My dvd sounds fine but no sound comes from my xbox. I went to the digital assignment option on my menu and set vdp to optical 1. Is this correct? I can`t find anything in the manual about video console connections. On my old sony receiver i plugged my xbox into the tv/sat optical input and it worked fine. Am i doing something wrong? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I think there is also a setting in the XBox that you need to change to Digital. If not, try exchanging the HD pack.

Yep, as Jeff said, it sounds like you did not configure/enable the digital audio out on the x-box. Has nothing to do with your receiver's settings.
