No sound from right surround and centre speakers (1 Viewer)

Hi guys,

I recently set up my home theatre system using the following components:

Sony HD TV
Sony Blu-ray dvd
Pioneer Receiver
Bose Acoustimass series 10 speaker system.

during playback I am not getting any sound from the centre speaker or either surround speakers. sound is only coming from the sub and the front speakers, despite changing all the sound options etc.

When running a test through the receiver, tones are heard from the sub, front and left speakers and through the left surround only. centre and right surround play no tones. I have double checked the speakers by connecting them to a channel that produces a tone and a tone is heard so the speakers are not faulty. Wiring is correct, unless I missed something after checking it about 15 times!!

What am i doing wrong or what should i be checking?

Hi Dan,

Welcome to HTF.

It is probably something to do with the funky way BOSE connects everything. Do you have the speakers connected to the BASS Module?

Folks here do not own BOSE (search if you want to know why). Perhaps searching GOOGLE will give you better answers.

Hi david,

Yes, the speakers run through the acoustimass module and then from the module to the speakers connections on the back of the receiver.

What is the problem with that?

How many connections to the receiver? One for each speaker?

Hopefully there is someone familiar with these can help you more.
