no sound from coax (1 Viewer)

hi, my dvd player is this cheap generic one that cost around $50. It has multi channel output as well as digital outputs (coax and optical). When i connect the multi output to a yamaha receiver (rx450), there's sound. But when I do it with the coax, no sound.

Checked dvd setup (audio = bitstream) and receiver setup (dvd auto).

What am I doing wrong?

Is it the player? Should I dump it?

Sounds like something is not "enabled" in the player or an assignment in the receiver is wrong.....
Check your menus again.......
