This is a two part question: best speakers available
1. $ no object
Revel Ultima Studios. $10,995.00
If you had to pay someone to build them for you they could get closer to the 10,000 range. But if I had loads of money to play with right now I'd be looking at the GR-Research AlphaLS (build yourself for well under $3k) or a Lambda Unity Horn paired with midbass units using two TD15m drivers (building these yourself would be ~$3k).
money no object, would go with the Genesis model 1.1, that setup is more money than some homes are going for.
and the 10000.00 or less would go to Dynaudio confidence 5
only 9999.00 a pair
My choice would go to this one, it is capable of some of the most musical reproductions I have ever listened:
The Grand Orpheus
On the less than 10 grand choice. Definitely the Klipschorn.
For money no object:
*WEGG3 Lunare 1 ($110,000)
*JM Lab Grande Utopia ($80,000)
For less than 10k:
*JM Lab Electra 946 ($7,000)
*JM Lab Mini Utopia ($5,000)
There are many, many more, these are just my favorites.
If money was no object I definitly wouldn't settle for just one speaker.
When I'm in the mood for Horns I'd listen to Avantgarde Trio 3.0 ($40,000)
Then when I feel like ESL I'd fire up some Martin Logan Statement E2 ($80,000)
Other times I'd listen to some Wilson Audio X1 Grand Slamm ($80,000) or maybe even some Dynaudio Evidence or B&W Prestige.
For under $10,000 I'd probably buy the JBL S series K2 mainly to be one of the first people to own them.
B&W N800 sig
Silverline audio sinfonia, grandure
Infinity IRS EPSILON
Jm Labs utopia
SONUS FABER Amati
Revel Ultima Studios
When I was selling audio, if a customer said money is no object we would soon find out that it's no object because there was'nt any to Begin with!
