I noticed that two of Hulk Hogans (bad) 80s movies (Suburban Commando and Mr. Nanny) are coming to DVD this fall from Buena Vista.

The only movie from this era he made that I somewhat liked was No Holds Barred. The wrestling movie with Zeus in it. Does anyone know if that has any chance of coming soon too. It looks like New Line owns the rights to it, and since they dont have a very large back catalog, you'd think they would have released this by now. Anyone hear any rumors?

I believe the WWF owns the film, and given Hulk's resurgance I'm sure there's an SE on the way

Where's the "Thunder in Paradise" complete series box? Yes, I'm serious and proud to admit it (that's what my therapist told me I should say). I would buy this in an instant. A classic bad show with endless rewatchability.

What if Hogan did a commentary for this?
"This scene was fun to shoot BROTHER!"
    "I remember that DUDE"
"The moral of the story is to PRAY, TAKE YOUR VITAMINS, and TRAIN"
"LEMME TELL YOU SUMPTHIN about filming this scene..."
"THIS IS A MOVIE FOR HULKAMANIACS BY HULKAMANIACS!!!"
"WHAT'RE YOU GONNA DO WHEN 'NO HOLDS BARRED' RUNS WILD ON YOU!?"

I remember someone on here made a hypothetical commentary for Arnold Schwarzenegger when we first heard about the Total Recall SE, and it was kinda like that! [IMG]

Well since this is the only thread I could find on the topic, I thought I'd dig it up from the grave as opposed to starting a whole new one.

I've been thinking a lot about this movie lately. I grew up watching this movie and would love to see it released on DVD. I currently have the extremely worn VHS version. I'm just wondering how much interest there is out there to have this movie released on DVD. I'd pick it up in a heartbeat if it were, assuming it was OAR.

No Holds Barred is a guilty pleasure for me, and I'm surprised it isn't on DVD yet. I almost picked up a used VHS copy from Blockbuster about a year ago, but didn't in the hopes that it would soon be released on DVD...

I'm waiting for this on DVD as well.

So the WWE does, in fact, own this? I know Amazon lists Columbia/Tri-Star as releasing it on VHS and yet I'm always seeing people asking New Line when it's coming to DVD. What's up with that?

BTW, what's the film's OAR anyway?

I think this is owned by WWE as well, Hulk in his book*, says that it was at least produced by the WWE. They should put this out, and as a special feature, they could include all the promo stuff they showed on TV, I think they even had Zeus appear on a PPV. That would be pretty sweet.

*Anyone who hasn't read "Hulk Rules" should rush out and pick this up. A book so full of male pride and adventure hasn't been writen** since the days of Hemingway, yes, Hulk does rule the literary world. You learn about how he put all those other wrestlers in their place after conquering the world with his bass guitar in hand!

**well, ghost written anyway, I doubt Hulk could use a typewriter, forget about a computer.

The only good thing about this movie was Joan Severance and she deserved better than to be in a movie with the Hulkster.

    Sincerely,

    John Kilduff...

You want to know more about this? Pick up the book version of "Wrestlecrap" by R.D Reynolds.
