Unfortunately the very talented choreographer and director died suddenly this morning at age 73.
I think some of us were hoping for a SE commentary of Footloose.
Guess that means all hopes are on Kevin Bacon now.

Is there a Footloose DVD on the way, or is this just wishful thinking on your part?

Footloose and Flashdance are both expected out late 2002.

Awesome to hear (the part about Footloose coming out next year, not the part about Herbert Ross dying)! My girl has been begging me to watch it (she's certain that it's right up my alley), but I haven't been able to bring myself to rent a pan&scan VHS version.

"Footloose" was the first pre-recorded VHS tape in VHS Hi-Fi sound. I have it on CED videodisc (which was already dead when this came out, being kept on life-support with new movie releases but no more players) and the widescreen laserdisc (gotten at a Tower Records laserdisc blowout, originally retailed for Paramount's bargain price of $39.99!)
