I have a Kenwood VR-507 reciever, and a Panasonic DVD-RV30 DVD player. I can not get DTS to work with my DVD's that have DTS tracks. I am using AR optical cable to send the audio signal to the reciever from the DVD player and can not get DTS to work. On Gladiator, when I go into the menu and choose DTS under sound options, no sound will play through the speakers. However, Dolby Digital works just fine.

Thanks.

Did you enable the dts output in the dvd players audio menu? The dts output is not turned "on" on dvd players by default. You must go in and enable it.

Done. I don't notice any difference between DTS and Dolby Digital though. Perhaps the difference is more noticable on higher level equipment.

Mark, you may find big differences as you play more DD and dts DVD's, I think Gladiator is one of those DVD's where the DD and dts are very close sounding.
