I have a Yamaha HTR-5450 receiver and a JVC SA70BK DVD Player....I have rented two DVD's to test my DTS sound...I have Jurassic Park III in now, and when I force my reciever to go to DTS, there is no sound. When I switch it back to Auto, the Dolby Digital pops up on the receiver and sound is restored.

Why will no sound come through when I force the receiver to go to DTS? Any help would be appreciated!!! Thanks!

Hey thanks guys, I was able to turn on DTS by using the menu option on JP3. Is it this way all the time with DVD movies or is JP3 an exception....thanks!

So Brian what did you think? I loved seeing the DTS trailer for the first time in my home. :D

Brian, Get a copy of Chicken Run, Special Edition, and select DTS ES Audio. Now, watch what happens next!

Ok, I will go find Chicken Run, now I am curious!

When the DTS came on and that piano trailer came one, it was AWESOME! The sound was incredible and I was also happy that my receiver worked! I was beginning to think my receiever was a lemon or something....

T2:UE still has the best intro (THX), IMO. :D , but I like the DTS piano too. The original DTS intro with the logo is also cool. Toy Story & TS II also have good THX intros.

Don't forget that there are some DTS surround sound music "CDs" available too. At least with them you don't have to go searching through on-screen menus: just put them in and press "play".
