No DTS?!?! Help! (1 Viewer)

I have a Yamaha HTR-5450 receiver and a JVC SA70BK DVD Player....I have rented two DVD's to test my DTS sound...I have Jurassic Park III in now, and when I force my reciever to go to DTS, there is no sound. When I switch it back to Auto, the Dolby Digital pops up on the receiver and sound is restored.

Why will no sound come through when I force the receiver to go to DTS? Any help would be appreciated!!! Thanks!

Brian,
I'm not too familiar with the JVC, but it's possible that you might have to go into the setup menu of the DVD player itself to turn the DTS on.
If you already have DTS turned on in the DVD player, have you selected DTS from the menu screen on the DVD itself? On JP3 you will need to go to the language section, and select DTS. Then you will be asked if you have a compatible receiver/ preamp, and since you do select YES .
Usually these are the most common solutions. Hope this helps.:)

Wow that worked like a charm! I changed it over to DTS on the DVD (JP3) and the receiver jumped right over to DTS!
Thanks for the help!
Now I will see if DTS sounds better than Digital Dolby...hmmm I was already 35 mins into the movie....shall I restart it LOL ;)
Thanks for your help!
