Hello forum. Used to be a member here way back when but lost my login. You all helped me pick out my Tosh 57" RP HDTV and its still going strong!
I recently had a Samsung 720p DLP rear proj and the DMD failed (apparently a "throw away" repair).
Around the same time we decided that we hated broadcast TV and canceled our $100 per month subscription to Dish Network. Bye bye Hi Def sports (all I really miss).
Fortunately it appears that many sports programs are broadcast via streaming video over the internet and I have convinced my wife to allow us to purchase a 40" LCD monitor for the family room. Currently I have my 19" set up atop my stereo and use it with limited enjoyment to watch football.
So, my question, with so much having changed in the Hi Def world, I have no idea what I'm looking for and I need your help. I'll list priorities below:
1. Monitor will be used to watch the new Hi Def dvd's, BluRay I think. I believe those are 1080p correct? So I'll want a 1080p Monitor?
2. Monitor will be used to watch online streaming video. I have no idea if anything is streamed in hi def? If so, is there a monitor that is particularly good at this application?
3. Price - I'd like to keep this purchase to $750 or less.
Thanks for your help!!!
