Howdy!

I'm buying a Samsung 56" DLP TV with a DVI input.

I'm thinking of buying a Denon DVD-2900 ($999) to go along with it.

However, Samsung has a DVD player with DVI output (DVD-HD931 Here)

Is this picking the DVI capable DVD player for $700 less a no brainer?

Thanks and good day.

Until DVD players and DVD's can do HD, you are better off saving the DVI input for your HD receiver. At least that is what I intend to do with my Sony XBR which has only one DVI input. I am assuming you have just one DVI input on your TV ?

1. Yep, it only had one DVI input.

2. Unfortunately, the HDTV receiver I'm going to get from Comcast doesn't have DVI output.

3. The Samsung DVD player has a neato upconversion thingie for 1024. Lookit the link above and tell me what you think.

At the very least I'd be saving $700?

Thank you.
