Thing is, why was the logo visible only part of the time? Because the network felt that more people really would notice it during this telecast and thus be offended?

What I'm getting at is this seems like a tacit admission on the network's part that nobody outside the industry likes the things.

FCC regs require the station to identify itself at the top of the hour. Otherwise they were just passing the feed from the Academy
