Younger HTF members probably have never heard of him, but there was a time in the 70s and maybe even the early 80s when Nipsey Russell was a staple of daytime TV. I remember he always had a whimsical rhyme or observation to make. He also appeared in "The Wiz".

An underrated talent, whom I always respected. He passed away today of cancer at either 82 or 83 depending on which birthdate is used.

I remember him best from all the episodes he did of the old $25,000 Pyramid with Dick Clark. He was witty and good at the game. RIP.

He must have been on every celebrity game show in the 70's.

I am a big classic Pyramid fan and an even bigger "The Wiz" fan. He definately was a talent. I was just thinking of him the other day.

Man! This year! It seems like every week or two we are losing some wonderful, talented performer who was SO much a part of my childhood memories. Just recently... Adams, Denver, Doohan and now Mr. Russell.

Along with one of my best friends losing BOTH his parents this year. Friends, we need to TRULY cherish our loved ones and our memories. They ain't gonna be around forever.

RIP, Mr. Russell, you will be missed.
