Speaking of Matt. I realize actors wear makeup but often his lips look like they have more lipstick applied than that worn by the women on the show.

7/6 Manya Mabika:
Line of the night by Christian: "If I build it, she will c*m" It looks like Christian is in for a dogfight for custody of Wilbur, and Julia's mom hit a nerve after making a comment about her loving Christian for the past 20 years.

I can't stand Christians "girlfriend" she is the biggest sack of sh!t on TV, and once she is killed(hoping she is) I will be happy. I know she has issues but so what.

Matt does have a mullet.

Am I the only one who thinks she just pulled some black guy off the street to "act" like he was Wilbur's father?

And by the way, who names their kids "Wilbur" nowadays?

Interesting episode to say the least. The look of heartbreak on Christian's face when confronted by the real father of Wilbur was very sad. Its interesting how this show can present the audience with successful 40 year olds who seem to have everything, when in fact they're as unfulfilled and troubled as the rest of us.

Which is why the twists and turns this show takes the viewers through is so interesting and relevant even in smaller, less dramatic ways. Now this show is very melodramatic, but the characters feel more 3-dimensional than most typical dramas.

I did enjoy Famke's appearance, the straight hair suits her. Aisha Tyler's accent wasn't all that convincing, though her character's predicament was sad.

Ok..... Did anyone else notice that some of the previews from last week showing what was going to be on this weeks episode were missing????? IE the jacuzzi scene between shawns wife and the life coach????

Over all the episode was almost over the top with some of the scenes.... All I can say is wow they are pushing the limits!!! And I like it!!!!!

I agree the look on christians face was very sad.

Sean and Christian seem very 3D dimensional because we see them interact with all sorts of people in different ways:professional with patients, very frank with each other, and vulnerable to their loved ones.

The storyline is that she is temporarily replacing Sipowicz's wife, Det. McDowell, while is on maternity leave. She's partnered up with Dt. Ortiz.

How weird is this? After posting on this thread this morning, I pop in 'The Station Agent' to listen to the commentary track. When they get to the first scene where we see Olivia painting at her house, surrounded by all her other works in progress. The director says "Ahh, yes, the paintings, Those were painted by my good friend Jesslyn Gilsig."

Yet another well-done episode (have they had any that aren't).

The Wilbur storyline has really got me, and the added twist of the biological father wanting him back was a real punch in the gut. They've really fleshed out Christian this season, making him more sympathetic and more complex. The only problem I have with his storylines is that women all appear to be villians, vessels, or victims. I don't know if this is intentional or not, but it's certainly caught my attention.

Over at the McNamaras, I have to say that the whole "Princess Menses" storyline was handled admirably (IMO), especially with how they dealt with the stupid, self-absorbed mother's misguided attempt to teach kids about sex. I'm no prude, but the straightforward, 70's free-spirit talk Sean and Julia gave is much better than some wierd romance novel/porn scene description, especially for an early puberty 8 year-old. All handled without the heavy-handed moralism so prevalent on say, most Lifetime, The WB, or ABC Family shows.

The plotline involving the cosmetic surgery addict was, to me, the least interesting plot on this show. Which still made it more engrossing than almost everything else. It kind of wandered into soap territory, went for the jugular, and then settled back into simplicity for the final act. Again, it helped add humanity to Christian, but I could see the request coming from a mile away.

All in all, another great addition that has already got me hungering for next week. The music this seasong has been awesome, what with the classical "greatest hits" remixed into dance beats. Ever since I got the Season 1 DVDs, I've been looking forward to the next set (even though the season's barely even started), but I'm hoping they eventually release a soundtrack. Now, if only Fox decided to make F/X a high-def channel.

A little late to the party here, but last night's ep (Mrs. Grubman) was a lot more somber than usual. Jesse pretty well summed up the show, but what got me was how far Kimber has fallen since she crossed paths with Christian. It was pretty cool symmetry how they were flashing back and forth at the end with Shawn (Sean?) telling the story, while Kimber was making her "movie".

When I first tuned into this show, it seemed like nothing more then a guilty pleasure bordering on trash. Its now very clear this easily ranks up there with today's greats, like The Shield and 24. Seeing Christian finally having his heart broken was very, very heart wrenching, and reminded me of Sean at the funeral of the woman he helped commit suicide. I don't think the other plotlines this season are going to end happily either..

Finally watched the latest episode. Nothing comes easy for these 2 plastic surgeons. You knew Wilbur was going home with the biological father after he watched how ferocious Christian wanted his lawyer to be in going after Gina. The way Christian has to channel the pain in this episode was pretty sobering, including the pain of Kimber's life spiralling out of control, and Mrs. Grubman's struggle to stave off father time with all the surgeries. Will Christian go toe-to-toe with a bout of depression as well considering what just transpired? Christian's got a much larger hole in his heart now compared to the one previously in Kimber's nasal septum.

Sean's home life troubles paled in comparison to Christian's issues, but there's more trouble brewing with Matt, but at least Julia and Sean confronted their daughter's early development head on and did their best not to sugar-coat the fact (while side-stepping Mrs. Epstein's attempt to paint a more mysogynistic view of the world at that bizarre party held in honor of early menstration).

Where have I seen Mrs. Grubman's daughter before?
