    Thought this was rather cool...

Konami released a video, all in Japanese, of course, showing the motion capture actors doing soem very cool looking ninja moves. Seems they are taking this game pretty seriously, since I don't beleive motion capture is a common practice because of the cost...

nor expensive. You'l find virtually every game out there utilizes motion capture, especially martial arts based games

Wow, how outdated on my reading am I...thought MC was used basically for movies and animated features like the original He-Man series.

Nor is motion capture necessarily "the best" method to use...a lot of game designers prefer the flexibility of hand-drawn animation over motion capture.

I concur, rotoscoping is one of the most visually disturbing things to watch, for me personally. I can't stand it.

I have NO idea how this turtles game is gonna turn out, but I have faith in Konami's track record with the franchise [IMG]. Long as I have some nunchuks the world is happy...

Motion capture is used extensively in sports games, for example. EA have a huge amount of mocap experience & a nice big studio.

A few years ago, the trend was for developers to buy the hardware/setup as it was deemed to be the most cost efficient longterm option, but that trend has passed, and most smaller companies tend to farm out the work to the specialists like House of Moves.

Who cares about motion capture? As long as Vanilla Ice is in the game doing the ninja rap, it will rock!
