Which version is the better choice?

Night of the Living Dead: Millinium Edition(Elite Entertainment)

    or

Night of the Living Dead: 30th Aniversity Limited Edition(Anchor Bay)

The former. The former. I can't make that clear enough.

Under no circumstances whatsoever get the latter.

If there are DVD players in hell, this is what plays on them:

    Get the Elite Millenium edition.

Oh yeah, don't get the 30th...it's crap, I bought and returned it. We had a thread about this maybe a week ago...I've been having trouble getting either of the Elite versions, but still hanging in there.

I usually find just about anything Harry Knowles writes irritating, but his review of the 30th Anniversary Edition of "Night of the Living Dead" is right on the money. You can read it here.

?>>>achieves the utter stupidity of ‘GREEDO FIRED FIRST’

    Excerpt from Harry's review.

Off-topic, but I didn't quite get that reference.

I know he's refering to the change made in the enhanced Star Wars edition, where they add a scene to show Greedo firing a split second before Han.

What I don't get is what makes it stupid? So stupid that it is, apparently, a popular reference?

That they bothered to add it digitally, just to give the audience a little "he may be a smuggler, but he's still a nice guy" moment? That they cut it in the first place?

Sorry, I know it's off topic, but it's starting to bug me now.. [IMG]

i have the original Elite release (not the Millenium edition) and highly recommend it. Lent it to a friend the other day - we both found the startup intro on the DVD hilarious! The way it scares you by showing a really blurry video transfer... it reminded us of the $5 videos we bought many years ago.

I'm glad I kept my laser, the opening intro is "hilarious" as Tim Ke states! [IMG]

I just finished reading the Harry Knowles review and all I can say is:

    SIMMA DOWN NAH!!!

Irritating isn't the word. His over use of the word 'shi_' was enough to keep me from reading it all the way through. Okay. I get it already. You didn't like it. It sucked. It was an abomination. Get a life.

Truly though, you can't go wrong with the Millineum Edition. I've never seen this film look and sound better. Great extras to boot. It has one of the best commentary tracks by the cast I've ever heard. Very funny and informative.

You even get Night Of The Living Bread. It doesn't get any better than that.
