Any chance we'll see some Nickelodian classics on DVD soon? You know, You Can't Do that On Television, Mr.Wizards World, Out of Control, Dangermouse, and countless others. I'm sure at least some of them would do well...

You can buy DangerMouse over here for £10 a disc. It's PAL video format but I'm pretty sure it is Region 0.
    http://www.amazon.co.uk should have it.

Out of Control? that rings a bell, was that the show that had the guy from Full House? Dave something?

Also, does anybody remember MAD MOVIES WITH THE L.A. CONNECTION? It seems to me that was on Nickelodeon , too.

I was Nickelodeon addict when I was younger. I remember some shows that not a lot of other people seem to. Here's a few that come to mind:

    Fifteen

    Don't Just Sit There

    Turkey TV (OLD SCHOOL!!!!)

    Salute Your Shorts

    Hey Dude

Nick Arcade (I think that's what it was called)

I've seen every episode of Hey Dude, including the rarely seen episode where Melody's drunken brother comes to visit.
Some of my friends and I actually sit around or drive around listening to the old school theme songs of these shows. Old school Super Mario music too! Yes, we are stoners and yes, we are geeks. [IMG]

I was a Nick ADDICT when I was young
    Welcome Freshmen [IMG]
    Salute your Shorts
You Can't Do that on Television
    Double Dare
    Ren and Stimpy
    Rocko's Modern Life
    The Elephant Show
    Mr Wizard
... Nick is just plain awful now. They try to give their stuff 'values' and 'morals' instead of good ol' 1980s Nick FUN! [IMG] Rocket Power... Wild Thornberrys, pfft.
The only good show is Spongebob (this coming from an 18-year-old kid [IMG] )

Welcome Freshmen... man, that sounds so familiar. Rob: can you describe it for me as it's driving me nuts trying to remember it.

I miss these shows. Does Nick ever rerun them?
What about Are You Afraid of the Dark? Some of those really creeped me out.
I loved all those shows mentioned. Especially Salute Your Shorts, Welcome Freshmen and Clarissa Explains It All. I'd buy them on DVD in a heartbeat, if just for nostalgia's sake!

man... I can hardly remember... It was about freshmen in High School... in the beginning and through the year... with the usual hijinks in between.
I think they should make a Nick Classics network (like Cartoon Network's Boomerang)

Pete and Pete was a real gem. I believe it even gained a cult following. I even remember seeing an article about it in CMJ magazine.

I think my interest starting waning when they introduced "SNICK". Saturday night Nick!

I have already started buying Nick classics by importing the first "Tomorrow People" DVD (original 70's series, PAL, Region 0) last month. We should see a complete story from that show on sale every two months or so. In the same vein/genre, I'd love to find stuff like "Into the Labyrinth", "Under the Mountain" and "Children of the Stones" made available again in some manner.

If enough of the master tapes of Mr. Wizard's World still exist, they really need to transferred to DVD and distributed to schools. This series really sparked my interest in science as a child and was a factor in my current career. The show is going to be a bit dated now (but not as much as his 1950's series would be), but the experiments shown still work and can be easily duplicated by kids. IMHO, this show was more effective than some of the more recent series (Bill Nye, Beakman's World, etc.) since Don Herbert let the science be the flashy content, not costumes and CGI effects.

The Noggin network is now showing "The Adventures of Pete & Pete" and "Clarissa Explains It All" daily. Yesterday (4/2) they showed Episode #1 of Pete & Pete. P&P is on at 7:30p, 10p, and 1:30a. CEIA is on at 6 and 8:30p, I think.
