Think last years NHT Sub 2 (dual 10" driver) floor model (undamaged) is worth $500. This would be for use in a bedroom and for about 70% music.

    Amp included or not?

    I'd buy it for $300 without. It's a used demo? Don't demo's get abused quite a bit?

I was at an Audio King once where they sell Krell, Sunfire, Adcom and the like. This salesman thought it would be cool to show off how tough the drivers were by KICKING the cone...probably the passive radiator, but anyway, that's why I don't buy demos unless they are way cheap.

NHT builds good subs. The SubTwo is excellent.

Negatives - nowhere near the extension of an SVS, Tempest, Dharman, or homebuilt. Expensive at retail.

$500 is a decent price, even when unpowered, IF the sub is in pristine condition. I have an NHT SW2Pi (one of the predecessor designs to the SubTwo, but with one driver) and while it is a good sub, it was quite easily replaced by the SVS 16-46 I use now.

Think about an SVS (or the others mentioned), if it is possible.

That would be $500 with the amp. And I would probably have to pay 6% sales tax.
