What are the next Superbit titles and when are they scheduled for release?
I don't know what titles are up next for the SB treatment, but I hope Starship Troopers is in the next batch.
If any CTHV people are looking at this thread, here are my suggestions Make them 2 disc! extra features on disc #2!!!
Lawrence of Arabia
I am hoping for City of Lost Children. Oh My God! That would be awesome on my 70" screen!
Proof there are too many acronyms on this site:
I would like to see them go through with The Patriot, but nothing more has been said about it.
Does anybody know why The Patriot was postponed indefinitely?
BAD BOYS and GODZILLA should not be forgotten...
Just a guess, but I'd imagine that The Patriot was postponed for the same reason I can't see a Superbit Lawrence going in to production - unless research shows that people REALLY don't care less about the way Pearl Harbor is spread across two discs there just isn't any way to get a much higher bitrate transfer on these discs.
Men In Black should get the Superbit treatment.
Also, I noticed that Run Lola Run is heavily discounted now. Perhaps this is a sign of future SB treatment?
Das Boot Director's Cut and Lawrence of Arabia (should both be two disc for optimal video quality).
Releasing a SuperBit version of LoA would be a remarkable opportunity for Sony to call in Mr. Harris to fix their previous problematic DVD release--
Don't use edge enhancement.
Color correct it to Mr. Lean's vision of the original 65mm negatives.
Finally fix the cut scene that takes place in the theater with a proper voice-over impersonator/actor (I think it was just one voice over person's dialog that didn't match one of the original actors who's no longer with us that keeps us from seeing this necessary scene) and place it back into the movie.
Restore and include the 65mm theatrical trailer; not the imposter on the current DVD.
Sony-- are you listening????

Are you kidding about Starship Troopers? I thought that disc was considered reference quality.
I'd relly like to see Starship troopers on SB.
Oohh yeah give me that DTS track.....
As great as the video is on Starship Troopers I still believe there is room for improvement. The Fifth Element is a good example of how even the best video can still be improved by Superbits.
Also the 384kbs DD track sounds a little dated compared to recent releases, and whether or not a full bitrate DD or even a DTS track would even help, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt.
I need to see WILD THINGS with the clearest possible picture.
Lawrence of Arabia would be pretty impossible to make Superbit.
