Next Star Wars Movie Announcement in January, Director Signed (1 Viewer)

There was just a new announcement of a series of Star Wars books and comics, maybe that is what this was all about. The storyline of the new books and comics are suspiciously like what rumors were for new movies a few months ago.

I saw this but I don't think this is it. This story in this thread I mean. They said a movie. Hollywood Reporter said. They did not describe anything about the story as far as I remember.

In this official Lucasfilm video, they describe the books and other media as a "springboard." To what? I'm not sure, but it could be movies.

If this do intend to move this into movies, I'm sure a movie will be removed from the characters and events in these books and comics (maybe a couple decades between the two a la the SW trilogies). That way, they don't have to worry about stepping on each other's creative toes and they don't have to worry the mainstream audience getting the idea that they "have" to read multiple novels, books and comics that are going to run for years before simply seeing a movie.
