Hey everyone. Typical newbie here so bear with me. Probably much like everyone else, as soon as I come up with one system, I find other options that just confuse me more. Here is my situation: we are converting our basement into a home theater. We will either have a projector setup or a 80" TV. The basement has approximately 575sq ft of living space. My budget is $1000 for just the sound portion of the setup.

Right now, I'm trying to decide on speakers. I was originally settled on a Polk setup but then I'm discovering Flaunce, BIC, and Dayton would fit in my price range. So, I'm hoping you guys can help me decide. Here are the setups I'm considering:

Polk
($765 on Newegg) - This is my preference as I've had Polk before. Issue I'm having is with Newegg. When I add the items to my cart, the price is much more expensive.
(2) Polk Audio Monitor70 Series II Fronts ($169/ea)
(2) Polk Audio Monitor40 Series II Rears ($129/pair)
(1) Polk Audio CS2 Center ($99)
(1) Polk PSW505 Subwoofer ($199)

BIC ($714 on Parts Express)
(2) BIC Venturi DV84 Fronts ($149/ea)
(2) BIC Venturi DV62si Rears ($1Loo09/pair)
(1) BIC Venturi DV62CLR Center ($109/ea)
(1) BIC F12 Subwoofer ($198/ea)

JBL ($546 at Fry's and Parts Express)
(2) JBL Loft 50 Fronts ($169/pair)
(2) JBL Loft 40 Rears ($139/pair)
(1) JBL Loft 20 Center ($129/ea)
(1) Dayton Sub-1200 Subwoofer ($109/ea)

Fluance
Not sure about this. They have many options. Looks like this SXHTB-BK-DB150-KIT kit is what would be in my price range at $649.

As you can see, there are many options! I was hoping you guys could help me out. I'm not stuck on these setups but am looking to budget about $400 for the receiver.

Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated!

The BIC F12 should be the sub, regardless.I haven't checked, but since Infinity is "dead", the JBL Loft probably takes over for the Primus.I'll tell you what I tell everybody else...Buy a pair of Loft 20, Monitor 40 and BIC DV62.Return what you don't like...buy the rest. And, if your room is that big, why not 4 towers?And...if you do AT for screen...5 towers.

So you're looking at $400 for an AVR and $50 for cables/misc stuff. So really you're searching for something in the $500-$550 range for a 5.1. The BIC F12 is going to run you about $200. So now you're looking at $300-$350 for speakers. You're options are dropping down pretty quick. Am I not seeing something or is the AVR not included in the original budget?

$1000 budget
- $400 AVR-TBD
- $ 50 Cables, Wire, Misc.
- $200 Sub- BIC F12
$350--Speaker budget
