    Hi,

    I'm getting a Daewoo 42" plasma at Fry's for $2300. It says
it is running 480p native, can accept inputs of 1080i or 720p.
It has 2 sets of component videos and 1 15-pin PC monitor-type
connector at the back. I have a progressive scan DVD player.
Ok, am I feeding it the best signal via the DVD player? What is the progressive scan input, 480p? Is there a 720p or 1080i
DVD player? What about regular cable TV feed? Can I up-convert it to 480p, 720p or 1080i with some cool gadget
that my wife will not let me buy? Thanks for all inputs.

    Chi

If it's just an EDTV that can display 480p, that's what you should feed it. If you feed it more than that, it is just scaling it back down to 480p. Just get a regular progressive scan DVD player, and you're good to go.
