Hello all and thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

I bought the new Panny 53wx42 this Sunday and brought it home with the help of a friend. Did the convergence 1 and 2 and tweaked all the other adjustments to my eye. I turned the SVM off. Anyway, here are my questions:

    1. It is pretty much unwatchable with the brightness turned below 38 or so, very dark.......Why? Is this a big problem? If I turn it and contrast down then I have too dark a picture as well as any shadows are pitch black.

    2. I have the color down to 12 or so, very low I would think??

    3. It looks incredible with a DVD (after adjustments mentioned under 1 and 2 above). I have cable (non-digital). I have to adjust tint with every channel change it seems and some channels just look cruddy overall, others i can get it looking really good. I never noticed any of this with my 27"...well, other than some had a crisper appearence than others. Is this the TV or cable feed? Would digital cable fix it?

    4. Would the AVia disc fix some of this?

You might have good luck looking/asking at panny.tv:
    Panny
    They specialize in Panasonic RPTV's.
