Newbie needs help choosing a TV please!! (1 Viewer)

Ok i currently have a Sony DVP-S360 (it is almost brand new so i can still return it if need be). I am now looking for a good TV to go with it, but i have some questions:
1. I have heard very good things about the 36XBR400 but is that overkill for the DVD player i have?
2. Will i be able to take full advantadge of the XBR capabilities with the S360?
3. What are people's recommendations for a TV to go with the S360?
4. Would it be better to get a different DVD player?
I am mostly interested in it for movies and i don't have Cable, i have DirecTV. Any advice is much appreciated.

Get the best TV you can afford, because it will stay with you much longer than your DVD player. Don't try to select a TV based on your current player's capabilities.

Gotcha. But i don't have to keep the DVD i currently have. I basically want to know if it's worth getting a better DVD player if i'm going to spend $2000 on a TV, or if the DVP-360 is good enough. Are there any other recommendations for a TV or DVD player?
