Ok I have previously posted in a few other threads and you all have been great.

I am down to wiring in my HT. I have a front projection setup and I am needing to run all my cables from the front of the room (near screen) up to the projector. Here are the types I think I will need in there

Component
Composite (video only)
HDMI
Coaxal

My run is approximately 21'
I have marked a HDMI cable on Blue jeans a tartan cable to be specific.

Now I am not sure about the Component and Composite. I was intending to have these ends go to face plates on the wall near the A/V recv. So should all of these have one end not terminated?

I have read a number of posts on here and on various websites and have only gotten more confused. (bundled vs. unbundled, shield types, codes no codes, 5 ends vs 4 ends etc...) I really am a KISS kind of guy and this is now gone well beyond that line of thinking.

Please provide some solutions if possible. I have already pulled a single coaxal thru the wall so all I need to figure out is HDMI, component and composite.

Thanks
Eric

I personally would only run an HDMI.

If you ran a 2" conduit, you could easily add anything in the future.

What do you think you need component for?

The one coax you ran can be your composite.

many wall plates are just pass thru's. So you cable will need to be terminated on both ends. (the cable in the wall will plug into the back of the plates)

I have some duct work that may prevent the conduit (PVC) but I will check.

Component? I dont know. I just thought that I had to run a cable from the DVD to the A/V r and then A/V r to the projector. Well I dont know.

:) I guess maybe I only need HDMI and Composite yellow only for the Wii.

Can I run HDMI from a regular DVD player or up code DVD player to the A/V R?
Then HDMI up to the projector? Is that really all I need?

Wii is composite only I think.

If you are purchasing a new A/V receiver or yours is only a couple years old, you may only need HDMI to the TV. A great many receivers made in the last couple years will upconvert all video to HDMI out.

I am buying a 25' HDMI cable from Blue Jeans. However, the component cables are very expensive. I need to run my Dish network and Wi so....

I found this site can someone tell me if they know anything about these cables? Will they work well enough? Can I run them in the wall?

Again I need to go approximatley 21+ feet.

Ok I am on monoprice and will buy tonight what I need. Here is my question first.

I need Component and one composite (Wii) can I buy a 5 end component cable and use one for the composite?

Not necessarily. A 5 cable component contains 3 component and 2 (L/R) audio in a single set. Component/composite cables have to be rated at 75 Ohms, but audio cable specs are not that stringent. Now is is likely that the audio cables in that set are over spec'd at 75 Ohm, simply due to manufacturing ease. But you cannot be sure.

I'd also look into component out kit for the Wii, which can be had for as little as $3 (although I'd probably spend more): Component Wii cables at Amazon. Then you can run component from the Wii to the receiver, get a better picture, and skip the composite.

Thank you! I did buy the 25' 3 rca component cable last night. I did see the Wii converter as well. I may do that.

I do have a box of RG6 cable that I may use to make my sub cable with and see that if the center and shield are copper I could just make the composite as well? Any thoughts on that?

Sorry for being so cheap I am trying to stimulate the economy but not all by myself if you know what I mean. :)
