Hi I am new to this site and Home Theater. I am looking for a decent system for under $450. Do I need to go with a HTIB or can I find something better in this price range?

I've looked at the Pioneer HTP 620DV and the JBL Cinema ProPack 600II. Are these good?

Oren,

I suggest three things - 1. a Kenwood htib; 2. used market (here, Audiogon, ebay); 3. start with a good 2-channel system.

The Kenwood is a good system for the money. I own one, and several here agree. It is around your price range.

The used market would allow you to possibly build a better quality system.

Also, consider spending your money on a good receiver and main l/r speakers. Then, when budget allows, build an ht system around those. A matching center channel speaker could be added next, followed by subwoofer, and later surrounds.

Just my 2cents worth.
