I'm new to the forum, but, I'm glad I found this site. It is sooooo informative. The primer for newbies was especially great. I don't know if this is the right forum to post this question, but since I'm a rookie, i'll post here. Initially, I was looking at the Yamaha YHT900 HTIB (1699 at good guys) because it looked like it contained a good receiver and DVD player (HTR5560 and DVC6480). My only gripe is that the satellite receivers are a little big.

I went to Tweeters today and they were offering this package:

    1. Denon 1802 with Mirage Speakers (sorry, i didn't catch the number, i think it is AVS200 with 100 W powered sub) = $999
    2. Denon 1600 DVD player = $499.

The salesman said they could take off 15-20% off the total price.

Since the 1803 is coming out soon and with an MSRP = to the 1802, should I consider waiting for the 1803? Or, should I look into one of the Yamaha RXV receivers (630 or 730)?

Sorry for the long post, but thanks for considering my questions.

I don't know much about the products you listed. However, I do know that the 1803 will have a few more options than the 1802, like component video switching and an extra digital input.

You may as well wait cause I heard the 1803 will be out in September (can anyone confirm???) which is only a few days away.

Although, when the 1803 does come out you will be able to get the 1802 dirt cheap in clearance sales.

There are your options to consider. Good luck.
