Hi, I'm kind of new in HT world and I have this question. I'm fairly satisfied with my receiver but I'm wondering if I will have noticeable (not imaginary)sound improvement by getting a separate power amp. My current set up is as follows:
Yamaha RXV730 receiver (75watts per channel)
Paradigm studio 60s, studio CC, and 20s as surrounds
Sony 200 Disc CD changer
I do 60/40 movie/music (mostly Jazz, some rock)
My volume level is not super loud -- it maxes out around -36db so sonic clarity rather than sheer output is more important to me.
Someone told me I can look into Adcom GFA5500 or 5503 which drives 200 watts per channel and within my budget of say $500 if I buy used on eBay.
So in order to improve my set up (which sometimes sound a little flat) should I invest $500 in a used amp or should I improve something else such as CD player? Any help is greatly appreciated.
