The one thing I didn't like about the N64 version was you were stuck within the confines of the missions. It would be nice if there was some sort of "free-flight" mode in the Game Cube so you could fly around a level and blow shit up without worrying about the clock running out.
I wish there would be a GC version of X-Wing Fighter (or Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe)!

Oh my god Larry, a Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe would be just way too badass! That game was so cool when it first came out, that was when LucasArts did more than just Star Wars games.

Another thing I wish you could do is fly other vehicles in the Hoth level. If I'm not mistaken, I thought I saw some x-Wings flying over Hoth in Empire. Also I wish you could shoot the Walkers instead of using the Tow cables (they could make it so you have to shoot A LOT!)

But that armor's too strong for blasters!
You could shoot down the AT-ATs in Shadows of the Empire, mostly because they only gave you a certain number of tow cables to use. I didn't like that part because it wasn't faithful to the movie.
Once you trip the Walkers, you can blow them up by shooting them. This was true in Rogue Squadron as well.

Actually, I read in an interview that the one thing the developers wanted to include that they couldn't was on the Hoth level, have the ability to crash your ship and such like Luke did in Empire, EXACTLY like Luke did.
Now that would be too cool.

Sorry, there won't be an X-Box version. Factor 5 is like the Star Wars version of Rare - they develop second party games for Nintendo consoles (except for the few PC ports of some N64 games).
I saw in the "Making of the Game" thing on the TPM DVD that they are making Starfighter 2 for PS2 (probably XB, too) and they are tying it in to Episode II.
