Fist of all I would like to wish everyone an advanced Happy New Year full of health and happiness. I would like to reward myself with an overdue new Subwoofer or two depending on the cost.
Here is my Setup;
  1. AV Receiver Onkyo TX-NR3030- Replacing it with Marantz C30 on Jan 6, 2025
  2. Panasonic DP-UB9000- 4K Player
  3. Denon DBT-3313UDCI - Blu-ray player
  4. Fronts: Paradigm Prestige 85F
  5. Center Paradigm Prestige 55C
  6. Surround: Definitive BPVX Powered
  7. Back Surround Definitive BPX
  8. 2 Pairs of Atmos Speakers SVS Prime Elevation Speaker placed on top of the fronts and surrounds,
  9. Subwoofer Definitive Technology SuperCube I
  10. Sony 85" TV Bravia 9
  11. Room Size 16 Feet X 15 Feet
My interests 4K Movies, Documentaries (Physical Discs Collection of 1,200 Discs), Football+ Sports 85% and Streaming 10%, Music 5% (CD's & Records).
I'm currently working and residing outside the US, hence my choices are limited.
  • SVS PB3000: $1,295
  • Paradigm X12: $1,620
  • Paradigm X15: $1,947
  • ASCENDO The12 SUB ACTIVE VENTED subwoofer "Made in Germany"= $1,460
  • Krix Seismix 3: $1,460.
  • Arendal 1723 Subwoofer 1V ; $2,444
  • Definitive Descend DN12 Ultra: $1,055
  • KEF KC92 Subwoofer: $1,623
I was offered one brand new Perlisten D215s Subwoofer for $6,475. but without the box, never used or connected however although the price is very good it's out of my price league and I'll have to give up the Marantz C30 to afford it.
Moreover these were the other Perlisten Subs on offer.
R212s $5,810
D15s = $6,135
R210s = $5,160
Still pricey for me although some of the best.

Please note that with the Paradigm and SVS there are only 1 piece of each in stock and they're not expecting any new shipments before Feb-March, So I'll have to do with one Sub or mix and match one X15 and one X12 unless I opt for the other brands.
I'm attaching photos of my room, Please note the following:
  • I've hanged the TV on the Wall and moved the Center Channel to the top shelf under the TV.
  • Back Couch moved forward 3 Feet and placed back surround behind me with back Atmos speakers on top of them firing upwards.
  • The new Subwoofer will be placed in the place of the table next to the old DT Sub.
  • Front Atmos Speaker is now firing upward.
The Apt/house is on rental, so there is not much I can do in terms of drilling in the ceiling or walls or even placing acoustic panels. Eventually I'll have my own house and can do whatever I can in the future. No exact dates yet.
Please note that the owner of the house living on the ground and first floor. I'm on the second floor and he's very sensitive with sound and vibration and rumbling from my system, hence the IsoAcoustics ISO-200Sub Subwoofer Isolation Stand (2 of these to fit those massive new subwoofers).

Many thanks all for your contributions.

My quick, gut feeling response. I don’t think any subwoofer is worth the price of those Perlistens.

And… I sound like a broken record on this, but I’ve gotten fond of good sealed subs. You should be able to get the SVS SB4000 for not much more than the PB3000. I’d go with the SB4000 every time.

@Greatestboss, love your A/V system and thank you for the very nice New Year's wishes for everyone!

I also agree with John who recommended SVS's SB4000 for the best match for your audio system.

Unfortunately the SB4000 is sold out. X15 seems to be my best choice between all of the available brands

In that case, why not SVS SB16-Ultra?

That's probably what I would do...

Unfortunately It's also sold out. it was on top of my list. I had to go for the X15 before it gets sold out too as there was only one piece in stock. I hope it performs as good as it look. I've read a lot of positive reviews about it.

Sold out? Doesn't look it to me. I just checked again, and it looks still in stock on SVS site...
