I recently found this picture on a French DVD site.
    Truffaut Integral Box
This one should be released on November, 6th.
Does anybody know if this one will replace the now out of print 3 Truffaut Box sets?

...looks like it's just a retread of all the Truffaut DVDs from the mk2 sets...
    ...nothing new under the sun...

If I remember correctly, my 3 Truffaut Box sets contain 11 DVDs, this set will have 12 DVDs included.

...ahh... that's eleven movies (the previous boxed 'collections' containing, respectively, five, four, and two titles) plus one disc of extras (never available separately, afaik)...
...incidentally, calling this box "L'Intégrale" is stretching things a bit... it does contain all the films that mk2 owns the rights to, but that still leaves a number of Truffaut movies not accounted for ("L'Enfant sauvage" for one, "La Nuit américaine" for another)...

    Ted,

I'll be in France shortly and would be interested in picking up the mk2 Truffaut boxes. Which do you suggest? Do they have english subtitles? Any other suggestions for classic french films that have gotten the mk2 treatment or similar, and which have english subtitles? Thanks.

I believe that all titles included in the mk2 set have English subtitles and are loaded with extras. Criterion has recently released the Antoine Doinel boxset that with all the features identical to the mk2. By the way, the mk2 double-disc set of LA NUIT AMERICAINE (with English subtitles) is much better than the US edition DAY FOR NIGHT. Pick it up if you can.

    No problem, Wes [IMG]
By the way Ted, are you talking about the same LA NUIT AMERICAINE mk2 2-disc R2? If so, it's been released for quite a while now. I got it from amazon.fr since last year.

And La Nuit Américaine is out as Day for Night in the US (R1 of course) since April.
