Hi, just joined the forum. Am an "older" guy (77) so please bare with me. First I should probably discribe my system setup before I post my question. Recently purchased a new 65" OLED Samsung TV. the old one we had pretty much was going bad (new one has a really great picture). So the system is set up this way. Have a Denon AVR-S920H with a 5.1 speaker system. Have a Xfinity DVR/Cable tuner and a Blue ray player connected to the Denon AVR. The "regular" HMDI output on the AVR is connected to the #1 HDMI input on the TV. The TV's ARC HMDI is connected to a soundbar (which we use most of the time for "regular" TV program viewing...just use the 5,1 system for special programing (concerts, movies, etc...). The AVR is connected to the internet via our WiFi (cannect connect directly to the cable modem with a LAN cable because the modem is at the other end of the home). The Xfinity DVR/Cable box does not pass 4k programing for most of the channels on the cable system including the "APPS", just "regular" standard HD. (sorry if I am not getting all the terminology correct). So would like to be able to access some of the free UHD programing on the internet via the Denon AVR. Was wondering if anyone could explain if that is possible and if yes how would I go about doing that? I tried searching on the intenet about doing that but could not really find anything about that. Sorry for the "long" winded queation but thought best to best discribe how the system is set up and used which would help maybe with the replies. Any help would be appreciated.

An "older" guy in Ann Arbor, MI.

Your new TV should have an App Store so you can download streaming service apps, like Pluto or Amazon Prime, to use.

Is there free UHD programming?

Greg, I know it’s probably unfamiliar, but you might consider moving from cable to streaming live TV. There are a bunch of options. I subscribe to Hulu. If you use apps on your TV to access live TV, it’ll actually make your connections simpler.

Also, to add to Dave’s post, the major apps, like Prime, Hulu, Youtube, etc. may already be installed on your TV.

The next step, for an “old guy”, is to beg / borrow / steal his childrens’ streaming account passwords. :D
