I just purchased a MITSUBISHI 65in HDTV 909 series. And the Mitsubishi 8300 DVD. I did alot of research on the TV but none on the DVD was the DVD a good buy at $208. Now I need a home theater system receiver and speakers any good suggestions? My room is 9 x 13 and i can put them on stands mount to the wall or ceiling??? thanks for all of your help... Also I am only using the cables that come out of the DVD player box should I upgrade? Will I see a difference in picture quality?

I was looking at ONKYO / DENON
    POLK RM7600 and JAMO 410

    Thanks,
    Brian

What is your budget for the receiver?
    Speakers?

If you have $3,000 to drop you can do alot.
Do you need the tv, dvd player, receiver, speakers?

You need to let people know what you need....then you will
    get more answers.

It looks like all he needs is the receiver plus 5.1 speaker system. For $3k he can do quite well.

Maybe like (5) Ascend Acoustics CBM-170 speakers w/ Hsu VTF-2 sub, driven by a Denon 2802. That should be well under budget and an awesome system. Or bump the sub to a VTF-3 for even more grins.

Check out SVS for subs as well. If you like the looks, they will not disappoint.

Of those 2 I like the Polk system, but I really think the Ascend system would beat it by a fair margin, expecially in the bass.

I am also partial to the denon receivers, as for speakers, let your ears be your guide. I personally like the klipsch line...
