    I received my Denon 3802 and Panasonic RP91 last night. Now I'm trying to figure out what cables I need to go and buy. Does the optical connection from the DVD player send audio and video? Will the receiver automatically send this out via the S Video port? Can I have more than one video output connected from my receiver to my TV at the same time. My TV only has composite and S Video connections.

    My plan: (please tell me if I screwed something up here)

    DVD Audio -> Receiver = Optical

    DVD Video -> Receiver = S Video

    Receiver -> TV = S Video (ext. input #1)

    Satellite Audio -> Receiver = Optical

    Satellite Video -> Receiver = S Video

    Receiver -> TV = S Video (ext. input #1) from above

    VCR -> Receiver = Composite (only choice right now)

    Receiver -> TV = composite (ext. input #2)

    Thanks for your help,

    Tom

    Your plan looks to be rght. Usually, the receiver only passes the video in to the monitor out of the same connection type (ie S-video to S-video, composite to composite, etc.). Only a few units currently do the conversions (composite to S-video, etc.).
    The optical out from the DVD player only supplies the audio. The video is sent through the composite, S-video, or component connections.
    Enjoy your new toys. [IMG]

    Thanks Scott.

    Time to head for Frys and get cables.
