I received my SVS subwoofer on 5/2 and have been out of town until last night. I need help in getting this setup and the the configuration recommended.

I purchased an SVS 20-39PCi subwoofer and would like some insight on how to physically set it up. I have never had a subwoofer previously so please be patient with me. I must say that it is larger than I anticipated but will transition to my new house just fine since I will have a large entertainment room. Surprisingly it was my wife, who told me to buy the subwoofer and she wasn't upset about the size of it since it fits in the corner of my room and is not as noticeable.

I am looking for my manual for the receiver. It could be anywhere since we just completed a renovation of our kitchen last week while I was away.

I would like to know where and how to hook up my subwoofer on my Sony STR-DA5ES receiver. I am not sure if I hook up to the Preouts where it indicates a subwoofer or on one of the other locations.

I have RCA connections and I also have speaker bindings on the SVS subwoofer but I am not sure which one to use. Does anyone know what those are for? How should they be used on my receiver?

Can anyone help me out. Sorry if this is repetitive but I need some help.

Thanks in advance.

OK guys, I apologize for not having my own answers to setting up my unit. My wife was so happy I was unpacking this that she sat the owners guides for both my receiver and the subwoofer where I couldn't find them. I located them and have now set the subwoofer up. It is working but I have to calibrate it to hear what it should really sound like. I can tell you that it has put out some serious bass in just the 20 minutes I have hooked it up. More on that later!! I would still like to have any information that you would like to share with me.

Once I have it completely setup, I will let you know what I think about my setup after I have had time to review it.

Gavin, congrats on your new stuff!:D
I have my fronts set to small, each speaker freq setting as double the lowest freq response on each speaker, lfe at -6, and lfe cut as standard on my DA5ES. I used Avia and Rat shack SPL calibrated to 85 with 87-88 on SVS. SVS is at 10 o'clock position. Your gonna love your set-up and the unlimited flexibility you have with this receiver. :D
Good luck1:)
