O.K. i am using the old 120watt plate amp off of a optimus 10" sub(it is probably at least 6 years old). my new sub is using the Original SVS driver tuned to 22hz. when i play test tones it has no output below 30hz. it sounds great down to that point and then just has no output below that. it doesnt even fall off slowly , it just has no output at all. is this problem due to the amp having a limit or could it be the tune of the box. i tried adding some length to the port but it didnt change anything. I want to find out if that would be the problem before i make the wife mad [IMG] and buy a new amp for it. seems kinda crazy to have a sub that will go down to 22hz and not take advantage of it.[IMG]

    Joe,

Sounds like your amp may have built-in boost in the 30-35Hz range. It also acts as a subsonic filter so that below that point response will drop like a rock. Sounds like you do need a new amp.
