I've noticed that the current New Line DVD of "The Mask" offers up both pan-and-scan and widescreen editions of the film, but there is no mention of an anamorphic transfer for the latter. I was disappointed to see that it appears to be non-anamorphic. My hope is that New Line might decide to do a special edition of this film sometime in the future, either as part of the Infinifilm series or as a Platinum Edition...and is the current edition indeed non-anamorphic? Any thoughts and/or info are much appreciated!

It's odd that this DVD is not anamorphic given it's from New Line. Howevber, I'd be very surprised if New Line revisited this title in the absence of a sequel. It already has a commentary and some deleted scenes. I have the R2 PAL version, which is anamorphic and contains the same extras.

Definitely not anamorphic, definitely not a good transfer - I just watched it a few weeks back and was surprised at the EE and other problems. Definitely needs a reissue...
