    Hello all,

Finally in a house and out of the apartment. After some research I would like the opinions/tips on the following setup:

    Denon AVR 2802/3802 or H/K AVR 520

    Mission 782 fronts

    78C center

    and 78DS surrounds

About 75% Television and DVD, 25% music

Room is 12x30, 9 foot ceilings.

Plaster walls, hardwood flooring(2 large area rugs)

Half room is for HT, so the area is really half the size with one side completely open to the rest of the room.

Would like opinions on the hardware selected and suitability to the room and opinions on optimizing.

In addition can someone explain to me if I set the front speakers to large , what should I cross at and if the sub(not sure which yet) is connected to LFE will it still get the bass portion when in stereo mode for music etc.

Very new and want to jump in with my eyes open.

Also any advice in Toronto for best place for Mission and Denon

Hey Ken. Welcome to the forum. I have a similar listening room and a Denon 4802. Not much difference from the 3802. If you set the fronts to large, the only thing going to sub will be lfe. I am unsure if the 3802 crossover is variable. If you set the center channel to small, that portion of the bass should roll off to the sub. For music, depends how amp is set up. Using dpl II, it will send info to sub.

For speakers, living the great white north, should really audition Paradigm.

Good luck, let us know what you decide and how it turns out.

Sorry to hear you were bitten by the HT bug. Death (or a very strong wife) is the only way out.
