9dB is good, but not a game changer. I expect these can be added to traditional methods to cheaply improve them. But, it is a cheap way to at least improve things. Add some non-contact sound insulation and the result might be very good while avoiding the cost of floating walls.

Would be great if it were cheap and easy for new construction. Might be used in higher-end multi-unit buildings. But in practicality this will be a super niche option for a few people for the foreseeable future.

Hopefully will turn out to be a cheap choice for doing a home theater and getting some sound isolation without going whole hog.
