I'm very interested in buying this model but no one seems to be able to tell me when it will be out..anyone know?

Will it really be that late? I doubt it. If it's up on Crutchfield's web site, it will probably be available much sooner than mid-October. I bought my then-new Sony DVP-C670D DVD changer last August. All of Sony's 2000 DVD players, with the exception of the DVP-S9000ES, came out last August or September. You could call Crutchfield about the 'NS500V, but they usually don't have ETAs. For what it's worth, Crutchfield only put the Sony SCD-C222ES multi-channel SACD changer on its web site about a week-and-a-half ago, and it's in-stock now.
