New Pioneers or Kenwoods? Opinions needed (1 Viewer)

Would anybody buy a new 2004 pioneer or 2004 thx kenwood receivers over denon, yamaha or onkyo. If yes why, if no why, in as much detail as possible. I have links for these models but the weirdest forum rules I have ever seen prevent me from posting them. The pioneers are VSXD914 and 1014 while the new kenwood is the VR8070 replacing the VR6070,7070 and 7080 models.

I opted for the Kenwood 5900 over the Denon 4803 and have been very happy. I wouldn't touch the lower end...8070 and below though. The 8070 uses a lower quality power supply and amps.

A lot of this decision needs to be based on what you are driving with them. It is possible that the 8070 is capable of giving you the best sound you can get from them. If you have high enough quality speakers to hear the difference I would be more inclined to either step up to a higher end Kenwood/pioneer or go for the Denon.

i got a Pio VSX-812K this year and if the 914 or 1014 are anything like it(which they undoubtedly are), YES!
